I am creating this site to satisfy my (and perhaps others) curiosity.

I am interested in the history of the development of this site. Specifically the architecture of the site and the technologies used.

1. What is the architecture of the Silicon Investor WebSite. How many servers are there. What are their purposes (web, database, application, etc.). What are the administation challenges. Etc...

2. What technologies were involved in the development of the website (eg. IIS, CGI, ASP, Scripting Languages, are components used, etc...).

3. What is the buisness model for the site. I don't see much in the why of advertisements. Running a site like this must be very expensive. How can you keep up with the costs.

Answers to these and other similar questions may have already been addressed. If anyone knows of any such posts, please provide a link.
