ON CONSOLIDATED WATER CO., LTD
Crested Butte, CO (February 9, 1999) -- RJ Falkner & Company, Inc. (www.rjfalkner.com), an investment research and financial communications firm based in Crested Butte, Colorado, today announced the release of an updated Research Profile on Consolidated Water Co., LTD (Nasdaq: "CWCOF"). The report is authored by R. Jerry Falkner, CFA.
Consolidated Water Co., LTD develops and operates reverse osmosis ("RO") seawater conversion plants and water distribution systems in areas of the world where naturally-occuring supplies of potable (i.e., drinking) water are scarce or nonexistent. For the past 25 years, the Company has operated seawater conversion plants and distributed potable water to residential and business customers in the Cayman Islands under an exclusive Franchise from the Cayman Islands government. Mr. Falkner believes the Company's technological and operating expertise can be applied in other water-scarce countries around the world, and management is currently evaluating opportunities in various parts of the Carribean area.
In the report, Mr. Falkner estimates that CWCOF's EPS rose 30%-38% to $0.52-$0.55 in 1998 (vs. $0.40 in 1997) and that another 20%-30% gain (to $0.65-$0.68) is likely in 1999. The Company currently pays cash dividends at an annualized rate of $0.16 per share and has paid cash dividends since 1985.
