Town Pages Holdings is rewriting the old notion of community newspapers. It serves small towns and cities in the UK by providing local information through a Web site. Offerings include news and weather, hotel and restaurant listings, shopping information, and job opportunities. The company's free information can be accessed through a standard Internet connection as well as through eight public information kiosks. Town Pages generates revenue by selling advertising and site listings to businesses. It also designs and maintains company Web sites, which are included under its Town Pages banner. The company plans to install nearly 3,500 kiosks in major UK cities over the next three years.
