uReach.com started a service several months ago similar to what onebox.com just began doing. Both services give a number free to users which collects incoming voice mail and faxes for them. Extended features for uReach.com include pager notification of new email/phone/fax messages, and call/fax forwarding will follow along with other nifty features soon. uReach also has significant storage and community features for its members.

Even my mother (who doesn't know what isp means) finds the fax feature (combined with the free toll free 45minutes/month which bests onebox as far as I know) so compelling that she uses it instead of buying an actual fax machine. She can use computers at work or at kinkos to retrieve faxes and she doesn't have to deal with two devices at home sucking up toner and time.

uReach.com can already send faxes from the web ala fax4free.com and it will soon offer the added benefit of accepting various file attachments which fax4free.com already does.

As the following article says the real strength of uReach.com will be continual integration of "applications" (Microsoft, r u listening?!) into the current useful feature set. Anyway, you can try it out quite quickly at ureach.com - good luck!
