Since all communities require some form of redress to real or perceived injustice, the Silicon Investor's Court of Justice has been established. Do you feel that you have been unfairly treated by another member of SI or the SI Administration? If so, this is the place where you can take them to court. The person or persons who feel they have been unfairly treated or their appointed representative, may file a complaint with this court. The complaint must include only the charge or charges, the name of the plaintiff, and the name of the defendant. The plaintiff must immediately provide the court with a link to the copy of the complaint that you have delivered to the defendant. Charges shall be numbered and limited to two sentences each. In addition to the complaint you may file with the court one supporting post for each charge. If at least five members of SI post on this thread that they think your case has merit, the legal process begins. Failure to receive five members in support of the case going forward within 48 hours, means the complaint will be summarily dismissed by this court. Once a complaint has been accepted by this court a new thread (case thread) will be started by the plaintiff within 24 hours entitled The case of Plaintiff vs. Defendant. It is the responsibility of the plaintiff to provide this court with a link to that thread. Each side will be permitted to give their evidence and present their witnesses on the case thread. After 72 hours all arguments end. The jury will be allowed to ask questions directly to either of the parties in the trial. During arguments present just the facts and no hearsay please! Any SI member who is not a party to the case and didn't serve as a witness during the trail may sit on the jury. Once the arguments are closed, SI members (jury) have 24 hours in which to cast their vote yea or nay on the merits of each charge in the case on the case thread. During this 24 hour period only votes shall be posted on the case thread. The decision of the jury is final. The court requests that one member of the jury post the verdict on each count to the official court thread. As required this court reserves the right to issue additional rules of procedure. By submitting a complaint to this court, the member agrees to abide by the ruling of the jury and will no longer bring up the subject again on the Silicon Investor. You may consider these procedures as being unfair, but whoever said going to court was fair! Disclaimer: I am not an attorney, and this is not a legal court of jurisprudence. All individuals coming before this court do so at their own risk and are solely responsible for their actions. The use of this court is for entertainment purposes only | ||||||||||||
