Per Hoovers: When it comes to the private-label tools of retailers, what's theirs may be Jore's. Jore makes power tool accessories and hand tools under retailers' private labels and for power tool manufacturers. Its products include a quick-change drilling and driving system, a reversible drill and driver, screw guides, and hand tools such as its Torque Driver. Retailer Sears, Roebuck and power tool producers Black & Decker and Makita account for most of Jore's sales. The company also has a license to sell power tool accessories under the Stanley trademark. CEO Matthew Jore founded the firm in 1990. Prior to the company's planned IPO, he and his family (including brother Michael, Jore's EVP) own almost all of its stock.
