Well, it's been a while since Muffy generated any real interest among the short story writers, so I thought I'd start another fictional story thread. And what better setting for fictional stories than the OTC-BB. Disclaimer: This thread and its' subsequent short stories are purely fictional. Any resemblance and/or similarities to any persons whether living or dead is purely coincidental and unintentional. Cast of Characters: Janice and her cat Momo: Janice is a Texas gal, who along with her loyal cat Momo, get caught up in a F-5 Texas tornado and are deposited in the land of Aaarrghs also known as BB-lunderland. BB-lunderland is that wonderful territory where all of the dubious OTC-BB stocks make their residence. Janice is a completely innocent newbie and has no prior knowledge of the OTC-BB or the people that make their homes there. Ham'nEgger: Ham'nEgger is a former pugilist who never really made the big time because of injuries. He now divides his time between being a locally acclaimed artist and the parttime Wizard of Aaarrghs. Highly Greedy: Highly Greedy is a parttime psychic and actor. He shares the Wizard position with Ham'nEgger. Tinman: Tinman is a sheet metal worker who is a devoted follower of Ham'nEgger. Tinman has spent time in prison for prior violent tendencies which he now seeks to control via the use of sugar substitutes. Tinman is a BB junkie. Choo-Choo Charlie: Choo-Choo Charlie is a railroad employee that is also a Ham'nEgger loyalist. His portfolio consists mostly of dubious investments within his home state of Texas. Choo-Choo Charlie is a BB junkie as well as a sugar substitute junkie. Sixpack: Sixpack is a parttime golf caddy somewhere in southern Florida. He earns beer money by surreptitiously giving out dubious stock tips in the restrooms of the local taverns he habituates. Sixpack is prone to investing in his own BB tips, and subsequently has little more than beer money left over each week. May-Day Weenie: May-Day Weenie is a stock thread junkie. He really has no money to invest, so he doesn't contribute any real thoughts on the valuation of any stock, but he absolutely despises the Silicon Implant website and spends all of his non-sleeping hours trashing the site, irrespective of whatever thread he may be posting on. He prefers to post anonymously on the Raving Bull website because he has a dread fear of having his true identity exposed elsewhere. May-Day Weenie claims not to invest in BB stocks, but strangely posts almost exclusively on BB stock threads. El Jeffie: El Jeffie is a BB vigilante, who spends his waking hours scouring the chat boards for dubious BB stocks to expose. Locale: The stories take place in Aaarrghs also know as BB-lunderland, home of the dubious OTC-BB stocks. BB-lunderland is loaded with fictional stories and fictional company press releases. It is a no-holds-barred environment where daily flame wars are commonplace. Misinformation and disinformation abound. The reader is left to his/her own devices to determine truth from fiction. Urban legends are often presented as common fact despite repeated efforts by the vigilantes to expose any truths... The Beginning: Janice is sleeping peacefully in her Texas home, with her cat Momo laying gently beside her. A distant murmer suddenly becomes a deafening roar as a Texas-sized tornado destroys Janice's home and the fierce winds clutch Janice and Momo for what seems like an eternity. When she awakens, Janice finds herself in the strange land of Aaarrghs or BB-lunderland. She rubs her eyes and turns to Momo and asks "Where are we, Momo?". Momo merely purrs in response. Looking around, she spies some people sitting in front of computer terminals and asks them where she is. They glare in response and remain silent, suspicious of this newbie in their midst. Janice is alarmed that none of the people actually seem to be working. "Where's your capital invested, Sweetie?" asks an older woman that suspiciously resembles a witch. Janice asks "Where is your leader?" and the witch responds by pointing to a road and proclaiming "Just follow the goldbrick road!"... And readers, you take it from here...
