As one who is intensely adverse to buying, selling or holding penny stocks, it is somewhat of a confession to say that I am long 10k of Accuimage (AIDP). That is a stock which sells for less than $1, and my position in it happened somewhat by accident. A little biotech company called Imatron (IMAT) received FDA approval of a CT scan of the coronary arteries, for the purpose of diagnosing coronary artery disease. That is a big step up from running a catheter from groin to the inside of the heart. Exciting, but that is a $3 stock with lots (I believe 80 million shares, if I recall) of stock out, so it would take substantial chunks of profits to stir a reasonable P/E on their stock. But they made BEAUTIFUL heart photos, which looked like 3D, and you had to conjecture that if their CT scan could do those, then it should be able to do other parts of the body in equally enhanced fashion! Then I saw that they had some equity held in a company called Accuimage. A look at Accuimage.com showed those other body parts on display! We probably have all looked at an X-Ray and tried to figure out what the vague shadows represent, but they demand the expertise of a radiologist to "Read" them. Well, if I were a radiologist, looking at photos as plain and clear as these, I would worry my future income in my profession because when YOU look at these pictures I feel you KNOW what you are looking at! And Lo! Accuimage is the software company which owns a software program that accepts a data stream from any imaging device (CT, MRI, PET, etc) and converts it into those images! And it had out only 10 million shares. Their deal with Imatron seems to be the largest pot on their burners right now, and it seemed to me to be worth a long shot bet! Seems like their chance of prosperity should be several times better than that of Imatron. Take a look at those photos, and do a little DD on this one. If you find something greatly adverse, by all means let me know, for I am "at risk".
