A great play on fingerprint technology is Mytec technologies on the TSE. I have seen this stock go from $0.50 to $9.00 in two years. Their product consists of method for scanning fingerprints using a type of laser interferometry. An optical analog computer is used to search an associative database of fingerprints. Partial matches are made without the need of a human judge. There is no need to use points on a fingerprint with this method since the physics covers it. This method smokes the current systems that use lots of general purpose computer hardware and DSPs and fits in a box the size of a telephone. In fact, I heard that the technology was demoed at an upscale health club in the Toronto area for members that had forgot their cards with great success. The company is for real, headed by a Ph.d in Physics (I think), It is rumoured that they are the lead party in a City of Toronto contract to supply fingerprint technology for nailing welfare fraud. I think it's a steal at $8 and change. | ||||||||||||||
