Microsoft's Windows 2000 operating system is released to manufacturing today.... available to the public on February 17.

- Does Windows 2000 perform better than Windows NT 4.0?
- Is it easier to configure than Windows 98?
- Is it more stable than previous versions of Windows NT?
- What about REAL security issues? (i.e. NT 4.0 lacked any real security after a default installation or without the appropriate service packs installed).

How does it perform as a server OS, compared to NT 4.0 or other operating systems such as Netware, Unix / Linux, etc.?

How will Win2k compete with Linux in the various segments of the overall marketplace?

Does Windows 2000 "play nice" with others in the real world?
i.e. other installed operating systems, other clients on the network?

I know of a few knowledgeable MCSE's who have been running Windows 2000 on their computers, they generally seem to like it so far.

Any tips, tricks, features, issues, or gotchas with Win2k?
Let's discuss them here!
