"This year's first Internet stock IPO is Crayfish. The company hosts email
and web pages for small businesses.

In US web hosting is mainly done by Internet Access provider but in
Japan, most providers did not have the sales team to sign up small
business accounts.

Crayfish teamed up with Hikari Tsushin which is the largest cellular
telephone reseller in Japan. Hikari Tushin has thousands of sales persons
across Japan, selling cellular telephone subscription, door to door. To
utilize this resource, Hikari decided to go into Internet business by buying
half of Crayfish and start selling their services.

Since then, the sales of Crayfish's HitMail Email and web hosting
business has zoomed to 45,000 accounts and climbing at a rate of 6,000
per month. Some achievement for 26 year old President Matshishima, who
dropped out of Musashino University to form this company 5 years ago.

Only 1,000 shares will be floated on Tokyo Stock Exchange's new
MOTHERS section by Nomura. But there is an interesting twist. Crayfish
has also decided to issue ADS on the NASDAQ. Underwriters are
Nomura and Morgan Stanley.

Crayfish IPO will kick off the 2000 Internet IPO season in Japan. It will be
interesting to see how well it does on the NASDAQ."
