Yeah, you may hear the occasional wisecrack about football players in a Hell in the Cell matchup. You might hear a less-than-insightful discussion about horrible football and even more horrible interviews. But you can't deny the fact that the WWF is successful amongst large groups of youth.

Vince McMahon doesn't fail. He finds a way. CBS has offered a 100 million dollar equity line to the WWF to change their broadcasting station over to CBS. If this were to change, Smackdown and Raw could become the biggest shows on television. Wrestling has a distinct way of captivating television audiences using extreme content.

Football works in the same way, although the attitude towards football in this country is a bit different. The national football league has a tremendous balance; they possess a homely attitude typical of classic conservative America with a tiny bit of "pop culture" mixed in. For all intents and purposes, it seems that the XFL is just concerned with the "pop culture" attitude, in which they would help shape and define what is popular in the minds of young Americans.

Because this is REAL football, the question of morality arises. We all know that wrestling is fake, and that they really don't hate each other. But what about something real, in which two teams spew venom back and forth and then go out and really beat up on each other?

Regardless, it's entertaining to watch for nearly every generation. This is a combination that will ultimately be successful. The XFL is not concerned with the NFL on any level, other than the fact that the XFL allows a place for NFL players to play during the offseason.
