This is a new thread intended to carry over from the old AMTI thread - since AMTI is now AI and quited on AMEX. Here's an article from America-Invest.com to start with: INSIDER TRADING Terms of Encouragement Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000 13:33 PDT By Bob Gabele, America-iNvest.com American Telesource International (AI) may have gotten away ... or perhaps insiders are right, and there?s more to come. Shares of the wireless telecom are up more than 600% already this year. Even so, from Jan. 5 to Jan. 26, five insiders exercised options to acquire 400,000 shares. Insiders at this company bought consistently on the open market from June 1998 through October 1999, but never at anything approaching the recent volume. The timing of the activity is particularly interesting. While the insiders bought, the stock remained flat. Then, when the stock began to make its move, the heavy option exercises began. While these insiders could easily decide to take profits at any time, the fact that they have yet to do so is encouraging. American Telesource recently moved from the OTC Bulletin Board to the American Stock Exchange. The increased visibility may very well provide a boost. The fact that most of the company?s business is generated in Mexico and Latin America has perhaps made the issue less popular with investors than some other wireless companies. Insiders certainly are onboard. america-invest.com Z | ||||||||||||||
