Advanced Wireless President Comments on Strategic Direction SANTA ROSA, Calif., Nov. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Advanced Wireless Systems' (OTC Bulletin Board: AWSS - news) President, Mr. Tom Howard recently reviewed developments in the MMDS marketplace and commented on the Company's strategic direction. Advanced Wireless has been acquiring Multi-channel, Multi-port Distribution System (MMDS) spectrum primarily used and targeted for high-speed, broadband, wireless internet service. Many in the industry refer to this as a ``last mile'' internet connection. MMDS wireless transmission does not face the constraints of cable lines or last mile switching stations when delivering high-speed internet connections to users. Advanced Wireless will continue to acquire spectrum in secondary and tertiary metropolitan markets as the demand for spectrum continues to increase the value of MMDS spectrum. The Company will seek to maximize the value of its spectrum holdings for its shareholders. Starting with its spectrum holdings in Mobile, Alabama, the Company recently acquired MMDS spectrum in Baton Rouge and Shreveport, Louisiana, Clarksville, Tennessee, and Reading, Pennsylvania when it completed its acquisition of all of the assets of Digital Wireless Systems in a transaction, which closed in August. The Company is currently reviewing additional spectrum acquisition opportunities in selected markets to enhance its spectrum portfolio. In the MMDS market, large telecom companies continue to pay premium prices for such spectrum. A consortium formed by Cisco Systems and Motorola is developing technology to deliver data, voice, video, and broadband internet service over the airwaves via MMDS. The Company recently acquired an unrelated business, Daybreak Auto Recovery, for its strong cash flow and earnings. Daybreak is the fastest growing auto recovery company in the North San Francisco Bay area.
