Stockcharts allows very quick and easy scans on technical criteria. This will be an attempt to track the reliability of the "major" candlestick formations as well as stochastic AV and DB situations. The AV and DB scans are very simliar to each other. Using the full (14,3,3) stochastics, AV will be declared when the stochs were >55 3 days prior, between 45 and 55 the day before, and >55 at close of that day. DB is just the inverse, catching a downward bounce off of 45-55. Criteria • For the last market close: • United States Stocks with... • 20-day Simple Moving Average of Volume greater than 500000 • 60-day Simple Moving Average of Close greater than 10 • Daily Full Stoch %K(14,3,3) for 3 days ago less than 45 • Daily Full Stoch %K(14,3,3) for yesterday greater than or equal to 45 • Daily Full Stoch %K(14,3,3) for yesterday is less than or equal to 55 • Daily Full Stoch %K(14,3,3) for today is less than 45 • Daily Full Stoch %K(14,3,3) for 4 days ago is less than 45 Everything is being done on a EOD closing basis and the cost basis for the indicated trade will be the official opening price of the next day. Stocks trading less than 500k shares a day are excluded, as are stocks under $10. As always, I am open to comments and suggestions. | ||||||||||||
