Introduction Compact
While nobody is watching, the U.S. is performing a mini-Vietnam in Colombia. Right now, we are roughly in the same stage in Colombia as we were in Vietnam in the early 1960s.

Similarities:

1. We are getting our butts kicked (just like in Vietnam).
2. The rebels have strong mass-based support (just like in Vietnam).
3. Chemical warfare (just like in Vietnam).
4. The American public isn't paying attention (just like in Vietnam at this stage).
