Marx Toys down 50%+ today could be a great buying opportunity although there is reason for concern from some news releases today. I started this thread for discussion. To open the thread, here's their last press release (I'll follow with news in the thread): Marx Toys Receives Multiple Orders For IM Buddies; Company Raises Projections SEBRING, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 15, 2003--Marx Toys And Entertainment Corp. (OTCBB:MRXT) receives multiple retail orders including another 10,000 unit wholesale order for its revolutionary new "IM Buddies" toy line. Additionally, Marx Toys has received orders from retailers across the US and will be announcing as orders are processed. This is the second large wholesale order in one week since Marx Toys introduced the "IM Buddies" toy Line. Marx's Sales Team plans on raising it's projections due to the enormous receptiveness in the field. Our sales force had a conservative goal of 1 million units to be sold by year's end, however, based on the current order flow and multiple orders waiting for credit line approvals, Marx Toys now expects Toy sales to exceed previous projections by years end. Marx Toys will continue to be aggressive thru its retail channels and is presently in the final stages of negotiations with major Internet service providers, motion picture studios, television producers, a large telemarketing department and other licensees. Looking Forward, Marx Toys sees continued strong growth in new retail and wholesale orders, strong website transactional business, and significantly higher profits for the 3rd Quarter and into the years end. The company is looking forward to sharing additional details regarding new retail partners, additional Marx Toys product lines, and our aggressive growth strategy over the next few days and weeks. "Since our introduction of the product, these orders represent only 1 week of transactional order flow and the current monthly projections are significantly higher than we ever expected. We remain confident with our current closing rates on orders and we see much stronger retail and wholesale order flow into the holiday season and beyond," comments Steven Wise, MARX Toys CEO, "Individuals have inundated our website while trying to order the 'IM Buddies'." About IM Buddies IM Buddies are a new robotic line which will retail for $24.99. The toy, which Marx has exclusivity to, will resemble famous cartoon characters and real life individuals. The buddy will sit on top of one's computer monitor and verbalize the user's incoming messages through an advanced "text to speech" technology. The animatronic messaging companion not only talks in the actual character's voice, but has the motorized ability to move it's mouth and head simultaneously. This companion uses an infrared sensor and is linked to the front of the computer monitor. Last, it consists of multifunctional capabilities, which include reading stories and playing a handful of online games that come packaged with each toy. So far, Marx has revealed its first 2 characters...Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, both from the Warner Bros. Looney Tunes Family. About Marx Toys And Entertainment Corp.
