After honing a strategy of how to pick potential stocks I finally put it into place last week with a fair degree of success. I have decided to start this board for my use to track how this strategy works. Since I use the data from the weekly edition of Barron's to form the basis of my selections I've decided to call the board Barron's Sparrows in hopes they will take wing and fly. These selections are strictly stocks I think will have some potential of rising in price within a short time frame...normally within a month or less, but not necessarily overnight and surely not the day after I select them. Most of the selections will have an expected catalyst to occur within this time frame. I personally plan to take a stake in these stocks as I did with last week's selections...ARRS up 32.2% from my actual buy-in price and BTUI up 17.5% from my entry and for the week. For simple record keeping I plan to track the stocks based on the closing price as of the previous Friday and as recorded in Barron's. I will not select a stock that has news released after the close on Friday and thus potentially have an impact on how the stock opens on Monday. For each stock I will buy 1,000 shares which might not be the actual number that I buy in my personal account. For example, in my account last week I purchased 5,000 shares of ARRS because it was more liquid than BTUI.
These selections are based on my personal methods and have no validation or history of proving successful other than for the first week. As always, every person should do extensive DD for any stock they wish to buy or sell!!
