Even as Global 3G (G3G) CDMA based Third Generation Mobile Wireless technologies roll out in commercial volume scale, OFDM and OFDMA based technologies for Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) and Broadband Wireless Internet Access (BWIA) are increasingly capturing attention even though their position in the technology adoption life cycle (TALC) is considerably less advanced. Leading contenders for BWA adoption are the IEEE 802.11x WiFi and IEEE 802.16x WiMax standards based technologies and their ETSI (HiperMAN) and ETRI (WiBro) counterparts and FLASH-OFDM developed by Flarion which is now owned by QUALCOMM Inc. but is not yet standardized. This board is dedicated to a discussion of those technologies and to tracking them through the TALC. The first post on this board contains links to good sources of information on OFDM based technologies, BWA, and WiMAX and this post (30) is a WiMAX FAQ: Message 21627223 - Eric - | ||||||||||||
