Zenbu Networks Limited supplies wifi routers with Zenbu software to motels, cafes, hospitals, libraries, schools, service stations, apartments, information centres, houses and anyone else who wants to offer secure wifi [for payment or free as part of a service].

See zenbu.net.nz for the wifi part of the business
and
zenbu.co.nz for mapping, search, locations, business and other details.

For example, a motel would buy a Zenbu router, plug it into their ADSL and that's it, they would be in business offering wifi service to anyone in range. They can print vouchers to give the service to their own customers, or charge for the vouchers. Or, they can leave it to anyone to sign up, pay Zenbu for usage, and receive payment for the megabytes used through the node.

Somebody staying at the motel would open their notebook computer [or other wifi device], hoping to find wifi available somewhere. They would see Zenbu available, connect to it, read about it, sign up for service via vouchers or by creating an account. Or, they could buy, or be given, vouchers from the motel reception desk if they prefer, and that service is offered by the motel.

If they are wanting pizza and petrol and maybe an ATM in the area [and they don't know the area], they click to zenbu.co.nz [within the Zenbu Networks web-page they can search directly] and put pizza in the search box. The node will know where they are and will give pizza places in the vicinity, together with a map showing the location including satellite pictures if wanted. Same with petrol, ATMs, schools and anything else in the area.

Zenbu Networks is developed and run by Tarken Winn. Zenbu search and mapping is developed and run by Sam Giffney. They are cyber-geek friends. Zenbu are privately owned New Zealand businesses [operating only in New Zealand].

Anyone can do a search from anywhere in cyberspace for things in New Zealand, and use the mapping function. Somebody in the USA wanting to travel to New Zealand could plan a trip, find motels, airlines, restaurants, buses, ski fields, and everything, print out maps, look at satellite photos and click to websites of businesses and other things which are found in the search.

Zenbu is NZ's biggest wifi network at accommodation providers. Zenbu.co.nz is now a serious contender for search business in New Zealand with Yellow and other search businesses.
