Esterline Technologies Corporation provides engineered products and systems for aerospace and defense applications worldwide. The company's Avionics and Controls segment manufactures technology interface systems, which include lighted push-button and rotary switches, keyboards, lighted indicators, panels and displays, and GPS devices; head-up displays; enhanced vision systems; and electronic flight management systems for control and display applications. This segment also produces control sticks, grips, and wheels, as well as specialized switching systems for commercial and military aviation, and airborne and ground-based military equipment manufacturing customers. In addition, it supplies keyboards, keypads, and input devices that integrate cursor control devices, bar-code scanners, displays, laser pointers, and voice activation for specialized medical equipment, communications systems, and comparable equipment for military applications; and produces meters used for point-of-use and point-of-care in vitro diagnostics. Its Sensors and Systems segment produces high-precision temperature, pressure, and speed sensors; electrical power switching; control and data communication devices; fluid control components; micro-motors; and motion control sensors for jet engine and airframe manufacturers. The company's Advanced Materials segment offers elastomer products used in commercial aerospace and military applications, and combustible ordnance for military applications. It also provides engineered thermal components; silicone rubber and other elastomer products, such as clamping devices, thermal fire barrier insulation products, seals, and tubing and coverings; lightweight insulation equipment; and combustible ordnance and electronic warfare countermeasure devices. Esterline Technologies sells its products through direct internal international sales force, manufacturer representatives, and distributors. The company was founded in 1967 and is based in Bellevue, Washington.
