Despite the fact that a huge portion of the public markets are composed of bonds, there is very little discussion about them. Discussion forums exist for us to learn from one another, yet there is not a single active Bond discussion thread on SI. Plenty of economics discussions, plenty of equity discussions - no bond discussions. So here's an attempt at getting that started.

It's a very rare moment in the bond world. Short term treasuries are yielding NOTHING - long term treasuries near historic lows. Meanwhile, yield on lower rated stuff are near new highs, and the spreads between them and treasuries ARE at historic highs. Surely therein lies opportunity.

Please put forth ideas you have on bond investments. Let's leave opinions about the economy to the other threads. Here's let's focus on specific bond opportunities, specific bond funds - or categories of those, such as emerging market, loan participations, investment grade corporates, treasuries, etc.

Here's hoping this discussion thread becomes a valuable resource. Thanks.
