Ok, we've taken a pounding lately, but time to be optimisic. I'm offering some swell prizes to whomever picks the first 5-bagger, 10-bagger, and overall best pick for 2009. A bagger is defined by it's price ratio to the December 31st 2008 closing price. A 2-bagger is a double, and so on. The prizes: Overall best pick is 10 Canadian silver dollars, including a 1958 totem design and a 1964 Charlottetown commemorative. Note that I have photographed the coins as an inverted pyramid, symbolic of the financial insanity which abounds. ![]() Second prize, for the first 10-bagger, are 15 Canadian silver 1/2s Third prize, for the first 5-bagger, is a fun pack; ![]() Including the past; wooden nickel and a cool $5 bill from when paper money actually held it's value, the present; a 1968 sample pack, when fiat started to run away (low silver content in these puppies), a 1965 Churchill commemorative (no silver!), a reminder of when CHARACTER still meant something; and a silver dinar, the future. Rules. 1. Any US or Canadian listed stock, except OTC-BB stocks. I have also decided to disallow warrants. No shorts. Once you pick something, you're stuck with it for the whole year. No flipping. 2. You must own the stock as of December 31st (honor system, you can sell it after that if you want). I find the game is more meaningful when you have some skin in it. 3. Oils, pharmaceuticals etc. all are ok. 4. Stock must CLOSE above the magic multiple to be deemed a winner. Same person may win multiple awards. 5. Picks to be in by 6 p.m. EST December 31st 2008. Contest results. editgrid.com CD | ||||||||||||
