When a government makes too many promises to too many people that cost too much money, the day will come when it can't keep all the promises. The US government is headed to such a state of affairs, and the new health care bill will only exacerbate the problem.
Goals of this thread:
* To study historical examples of prior defaults * To monitor defaults that are likely to happen before that of the USG * To predict if and when the USG declares it cannot keep its promises * To figure out how to preserve capital or even profit when the time comes
Encouraged: nuance, skepticism, caution, open-mindedness, fallibilism Discouraged: esotericism, true belief, partisanship
