Veeco  has been in the led equipment sector for many years. The stock price seems to follow that of Cree quite closely. I believe that LED lighting is in it infancy and represents an excellent growth sector in the future. Although their have been many articles regarding the overcapacity of LED equipment, I believe that with product price reductions and manufacturing process improvements, we may be on the edge of LED's taking market share as price drops of the bulbs and fixtures displace fluorescent and incandescent bulbs/fixtures. We may well see cycle peaks and valleys in LED equipment orders that closely mirrors what was seen in the late 90's with PC cycles. This thread will monitor EPS of veco with other LED equipment makers.as well as LED bulb makers. There seem to be very few pure equipment plays on LED lighting.
