I do a bit of serious short-term trading in biotechs, and I'd like to get some discussion going. For the mean time, it would be nice to meet some of the registered users (please check in and introduce yourself) who have an interest in this sector.

I'll piece-meal discuss my strategies and some success stories..... don't have many failures to relate. :-) For now, however, let's just get a discussion going.

ATIS has been yanked around in the last four trading days. I'd expect short interest to be up for the next report, as RUMOR* indicates that bad news is due and that the cartilage and heart valve programs stink. It settled down a bit today, but there are many waiting for the sector or market to hit some tough times and really short the heck out of it. It should be fun to watch, from the "short-term learning" perspective.

Let's see........ I hold ARIA long-term, but I may soon establish a trading position (long) on top of that. IMO**, it's way under-valued, and also under-followed. Recent publications, however, should increase visibility.

O.K., that's a start. I'll look forward to discussions concerning this volatile sector, and what you can do with a short-term strategy to complement a solid portfolio.

* rumor = a bit of news without substantiating data, best ignored. :-)
**IMO = in my opinion, which, if you're an informed investor, should mean squat.

Cheers! Rick
