The National Basketball Association (NBA) Forum
Founded in New York City in June, 1946, the National Basketball Association (NBA) is composed of 30 teams (29 in the United States and 1 in Canada) and it is the premier men's professional basketball league in the world. The league was founded as the Basketball Association of America (BAA) and adopted the name National Basketball Association on August 3, 1949, after merging with the competing National Basketball League (NBL). The league's several international as well as individual team offices are directed out of its head offices located in the Olympic Tower at 645 Fifth Avenue in Midtown Manhattan. NBA Entertainment and NBA TV studios are directed out of offices located in Secaucus, New Jersey. .
This SI board was originally founded by 'themightybruin' early in 1999 and is the sole active SI subject board dedicated to discussion of the NBA of today or yesteryear. It is open for posting by all SI members wishing to discuss the current NBA season and playoffs, the leaue's history, it's greatest teams, players and coaches.
