Alcatel-Lucent (ALU)
Alcatel (ALA) and Lucent (LU) are history as stand alone companies. The merger between these two communications equipment giants is complete. Patricia Russo, formerly Lucent's chief executive, has been appointed CEO of Alcatel-Lucent. The combined annual revenue of Paris, France based Alcatel-Lucent is estimated at around $25 billion. Effective December 1, 2006, Alcatel-Lucent shares began trading on Euronext Paris and the New York Stock Exchange under a new common symbol ALU (ALU.PA and ALU.N).
