Return to JER Envirotech (JER.V) - Wood Plastic Composites

From the company website:

"JER Envirotech is an innovative manufacturer of wood-plastic composite(WPC) products. We mix sawdust and plastic to make a variety of products, including panel boards for construction, substrate for countertops and flooring, decking products and innovative raw material for exciting new uses in the automotive industry.

We focus on environmental responsibility and forest preservation - by using wood waste (sawdust) to make better wood products, we save forests AND create higher quality wood."

As of the beginning of 2006, JER is in production at their first plant in Delta, BC. They are manufacturing pelletized WPC using a combination of polypropylene and sawdust. They are constructing a panel board manufacturing plant as well, to extrude WPC in 4' x 8' sheets for use in the construction industry.

By the end of the year, they plan to have plants operating in the Philippines and Malaysia. Plants are also planned for India, China and other Asian locations. The company has formed joint ventures with locally-established, major companies in these countries. This enables them to partner with very strong, well-positioned local companies that will speed their entry into local markets. In addition, the JV partners typically put up most of the capital required to construct plants, reducing the requirement for JER to issue stock or take on debt.

JER has developed forty-two WPC formulations in conjunction with the Natural Resources Council of Canada. NRC owns the patents and licenses the technology exclusively to JER.
