Great idea! Over on the AIM forum here Subject 12596 I have posted a few comments on a Java AIM trading engine that includes an evolutionary computation engine for optimization. Discussion about some of my earlier experiments can be found at thinkalong.com I am thinking about starting a project at sourceforge.net for this system, and am thinking about using that site as a platform for the development of a generalized trading system (TA, AIM, etc) complete with an accounting system integrated with a PIM.
