Jason Goepfert never mentioned the market. He was talking about the VIX .
Jason founded, built, and sold sentimentrader.

He said in his post:
Every time the VIX jumped by 50% in a single session, it plunged over the next month.
You`ve commented 3 times on his post all wrongly quoting him.

At 1 month after such a jump in VIX, the market didn’t show a positive return even once. Not once. And overall, not great results over the next 12 months.

Very interesting study from Sentimentrader. Since 1991, every time when VIX jumped 50% in a single day was followed by a prolonged period of underperformance.

The post to which I’m replying - 2 days ago - shows a setup after which the market was (so far) negative every time a month later.
OK, to “balance” things, here’s a setup after which the market was positive a month later 88% of the time…LOL

Thrilled to see @jasongoepfert's Tweet on the VIX featured by @MarketWatch in their article, "After a big jump, the VIX is always lower one month later: Sentimentrader".
