John Wang-"traveler" - <Fools' take is on Intel>

Fairly stupid take. The article based iteslf on
the false thesis that the Pentiums-II are cheaper
to manufacture. This is simply cannot be true as
I proved in my several posts here:

Ananlyst's estimations are in the range $90 -$120 for
PII while the typical cost of the Socket-7 processor
is no more than $30-$35 depending on current yields.

The Intel's profit comes from excessive pricing of
their high-end chips $500 - $800. This has very little
to do with manufacturing cost as the superficial Fool
implies in the stupid article. IMHO, this excess will
be shaved off really hard in the near future.

Waiting for your future enjoyments,
I remain,

- Ali
