<<Ok, the most common cause of women going to Emergency Rooms in the US is domestic violence >>A completely outrageous statistic. One that unfortunately holds true to one degree or another around the world. As a man I am embarrassed that this is a testimonial to Lorries y chromosome theory. But in the Taliban situation the behavior is so much worse and it is official policy enforced by the fundamentalist Muslim government. See the difference?
If I had a belief that spokesmen for [ they are spokesmen for your religion if just because of their visibility ]were was behaving as such. And in the process slandering by these very actions this belief. My rage would be uncontrollable.I speak not of the rage that I'm sure you do feel at the inhumanity of these actions themselves. Every reasonable person must feel this. I do not accuse you of insensitivity toward the situation there.I speak of the effect that this has on the world view [ right or wrong ] of your religion. Instead you direct your rage at me. This is misplaced. It should be directed at those who give me the ammunition for my views,.

brees - you seem to have a source of statistics on women going to emergency rooms that the rest of us don't. If that were true, a huge percentage of men are beating their wives and companions, which is simply not true.
