i do appreciate your humorously positive post and i hate to follow it with another positive one without humor :-)... do you remember the price at $20 that IDTC retained after the rate's drop last November? well, actually it bottomed out around $14 in October (black October for the entire market due to Asia crisis) and gradually climbed back up to $20 in the first week of November as the interest rate dropped. let's take a look at the income statement for the quarter ended on July 31, 1998 which was reported on Oct 29, right before the rate's drop:

July 31, 1998
Revenue
Telecom $113.9M
Internet $4.7M
N2P $3.9M
Net income (loss)per
share diluted $(0.51)

the above income report supported the $20 price starting in November. please see the below graph from yahoo. agree?

quote.yahoo.com

now everybody is holding in anticipation of interest rate's increase, right? let's take a look at the recent income statement:

April 30, 1999
Revenue
Telecom $179.2M
Internet $4.2M
N2P $8.4M
Net income per
share diluted $0.06

looking at the past and present income reports and considering the respective market sentiments, i am very comfortable in my belief that IDTC will not fall below $20 regardless of how the interest rate is decided. in other words, $20 stock price for a much weaker revenue reported end of October '98 (given 1/4 point drop in interest rate) should at least be the supportive price for a much stronger revenue reported on June 3 '99 (given 1/4 point or higher interest rate's rise that may have already been factored in).

i hope i'm not too far off base here. :-)
