Todd,

It always kills me when somebody comes along to "enlighten" us about the OEMs and Ancor's competitiveness. We are on the record in the last 22,647 posts as having been there. Our discussions of the OEM situation and all of the other "negatives" about Ancor are on record. They have apparently only recently been discovered some of the posters on the Yahoo board.

If this guy could really care less which direction Ancor stock goes - he wouldn't take the time to post a message. If he is really that high on Brocade - why doesn't he start a Brocade thread on Yahoo or post on the Brocade thread on SI. In fact, why doesn't anybody post on the Brocade thread on SI? Everybody in the world knows how many shares of Ancor stock are held by posters on SI and Yahoo. I haven't heard of a single Brocade long (except for Roy of course). Where are they? Did the long time Ancor detractors buy Brocade when it went public? My guess is they didn't.

My money is still down and I know more about spending it than another detractor. Remember the most infamous detractor on SI? It turns out that we have brains and money.

It is no accident that he significantly shortened the Ancor OEM list. To refresh everybody's memory it is in this recent post:

Message 10091605

I'm counting nine.

The standard detractor rhetoric is: "Well they are not as big as Brocade's OEMs?" I seem to recall that one of them used to be a Brocade cutomer. Like recent events, time will tell. I think it is conceivable that HDS and Sun may be 50% of the market. KJ what do you think?

It is also clear that nobody knows what Ancor management knows. There are doing a great job and they know how to run the business.

George D.

If indeed "FC_fan" has " no financial interest" on either the Long or Short side, then all I can say is that their information is a good summary/snapshot of the current switch SANscape laced with some sour grapes "attitude". Who am I to disagree? I am not here to convince people to buy/sell/hold/short.People should look at all the information and make their own decisions. The only advice I would give to longs is to NOT buy ANCR on margin..the MM's have a history of picking up cheaper stock at the expense of weak hands due to margin calls and stop losses..I would venture to say that some retail bought several weeks ago at 11-13, were margined/scared/stop-lossed out of their stock at 9-10, only to see the stock make a 52 week high of 17 5/8 this past week. Quite frankly, Ancor's strength this past week in the face of a gutwrenching market correction took me by surprise, so I make no predictions on which direction ANCR goes from here short term.

Regarding Brocade's "dominance", all I will say is that certain people were dead wrong when they predicted Ancor's demise and that Brocade had "locked up ALL the major OEMs" last year. I suggest that people go back and review the past predictions of "bullstroke"/a_rapport/wilhu ,all the technical issues that they raised and where Ancor stands today on those issues:

-Class 1 vs Class 2/3? Problem solved.
-512 buffer vs 2K? Problem solved.
-Private vs Public Loop? Problem solved.
-BRCD had a Prettier GUI ? Problem solved.
-No Tier 1 OEMs? Problem solved...

I would also add that the majority of people who read these boards are investors, not company employees. I think they should ask the question " If Ancor revenues go from $5 million to $50 million and BRCD still has 50-70% market share, do I really care??? Do I need or want BRCD to fail in order for me to make money on ANCR OR is it possible that a high market valuation for BRCD actually helps the ANCR Longs??? Is this a "contest" or an investment/trading forum to discuss reasons to buy/sell Stock XYZ???

One last observation..this market is VERY EARLY. Don't let anyone fool you. 84% of nothing is still nothing. Back in 1996, all the ADSL talk focussed on the battle between AMTX and WSTL and CAP vs DMT..the reality is that it appears the BIG winners are turning out to be the darkhorses like AWRE ( and Orkit? )and the new kids on the block..AMTX did not survive as an independent entity
.. and WSTL?...how the mighty have fallen...
