Re: You don't have a clue about medical research you repugnant capitalist ...better hope you don't develop pancreatic, esophageal or metastatic colon cancer cause medical science has NO cures! Many of the medical advancements today could have been achieved 20 years ago if the funding was there...unfortunately our priorities were misdirected.

From your profile, you're a physician with a .edu domain on your e-mail address, implying a link to a university. You wouldn't happen to personally benefit from increases in medical funding, would you? BTW - if I recall correctly, the Gates' Foundation is a huge donor to medical research, specifically in the area of immunizations, and Bill himself fancies biomedical companies for his personal investments.

If everyone ate a diet of raw organic fruits and vegetables, these diseases would be eradicated.

Manners, Manners, Doctor.....

You're right, there are no cures for your listed diseases yet but , if you're following the biotech areas, you'd be aware that, even for pancreatic CA, the answers aren't that far away.

It seems that your investment portfolio should be heavily weighted in these areas given you're belief that not enough is being done. Vote your conviction with YOUR personal dollars though investment then try to PERSUADE others to do the same. Point to the successes. Highlight the promising areas. Maybe even start a website that makes that data available in an easily distilled form to potential investors. No one will be more generous than those who may benefit (aging baby boomers with money) from the research. Once the knowledge is out there and defined as standard of care, all will benefit. Maybe you already are doing all these things. Simply having government throw money at the problem (not their money) is not the answer. Gene mapping, cheap, high volume screening and testing of millions of compounds will yield a solution...just maybe not tomorrow.
One thing is certain, your name calling is inappropriate
