The following sounds a little more in line with what I have been expecting:

Howard, I actually find it somewhat comforting that these surveys are holding at around 10%.

In the 1987 crash when stocks lost 26% of their value in one day, The percentage of shares outstanding which changed hands was approximately .75% (that's 3/4 of one percent)!
