Did you see his reported stock option plan? 1.5 million shares, for just showing up!! Isn't that a $150mil? No wonder he reneged on his deal with Pepsi.

Looks like a perfect match - a real hardware type a guy to patch up the image of a real virtual reality type company. Maybe he and Bezos coordinated the deal so that it would create controversy - a lawsuit by B&D would be worth several tens of millions in free publicity.

Whatever happened to the highly trumpeted notion that Amazon.com was not one of those obsolete "bricks and mortar" companies?

The choice for pres. was probably a very good one - someone who knows how to market commodities and handle product image and development. In the final analysis, there isn't any difference between how you package and market potato chips or cordless drills and how you package and market commodity e-tail.

But that might not sit extremely well with propeller heads who see the Internet as something truly unique.
