You are right, WST. (I don't want to start a new thread because I have never done that before and might mess it up.)

WST >>>> Being Long means you believe in a company and don't trade every day or week in the stock. Being Long means getting drawn to the screen every day to see it up and down and up and down and up and down.

Being Long on GNET means that we really believe this is a great company. Russell and the team are creating a beautiful bunch of websites based on a great vision and superb execution.

WST we have scrolled through at least 100 messages from you on this board just to say 'Buy now' or 'Sell now'. So with all respect, you're not the guy to complain now.

Being Long and believe in GNET means that the money I have to spend, I spend on GNET. So in between the monthly paychecks, it's not to bad to have some fun. SI is great, but if you only go through your bookmarks and check your portfolios you get bored sometimes. There are some other threads on SI that have created the combination of content and community sense. In the end you almost feel to have friends out there.

The new SI will probably have more scroll, browsemaster and 'avoid' options so then we all will be happy.

I have been amazed to see the thread evolve. The Crystal Balls and option007 posts and the discussion around the complaint letter against you were really annoying. But it passed out (with some assistance of SI Bob, very important). I have been amazed by the reactiveness of GNET when they put the banner on the site. I was pissed off too, off-line thinking of a complaint post. But within 24 hours they adapted it in a very acceptable manner.

To have management of GNET posting itself. To have almost live coverage of the shareholders meeting. Open discussions about board membership. That creates an accelerated learning process. I have worked as consultant and manager in 5 countries for at least 50 companies so I have some comparison. This company is really very good in creating a new business and adaptive to its customers and shareholders.

I was the first compiler of the list, just one post. Then left it, but others took over and a lot of readers (I find lurkers a bad word) that never posted before started with quality posts themselves, then we had former complainer Fred Chuang with an excellent list.

If you want communities to thrive, you should be part of it and contribute to it in a way that is useful to others.

You might not have seen it, but we changed the Long list to the 100Hot list, to limit it and then we leave it for what it is.

Normally I'm rather serious myself, but I enjoyed the party feeling that came in after the 'Mary Meeker doubts' were crashed and GNET jumped 26 dollars in a single day.

Just my views

WST, I agree with you; it had to be said. The success of SI stems from post quality and relevance because this site is viewed by many non-members in search of investment opportunities. If the information found here develops a useful reputation, then those nonmembers eventually join, myself included. However, I think that this off topic digression is nothing more than one great big sigh of well-deserved relief, and I am confident that this site will not decay in Yahoo form.

WST, I seem to recall people on this thread making the same type of comments about your posts in the past. The pot calling the kettle black if you ask me. Just my views

My turn.

You're darn right you are going to cause some opposition. You show me where in SI TOU it states that material and content posted to a thread MUST be on-topic and related to business only and pertinent information related to each individual thread. IT DOES NOT SAY THAT.

I am terribly sorry you are getting sick and tired of the GNET long list. This list was was started by Josef Message 9570479 in a response to others that were selling.

This list has brought out the feeling of comradery and unity with the group here. Most importantly, it has brought people to this thread, those that have read regularly and now want to be a part of the group. Many on this thread discuss the daily ups and downs of GNET, the management, the financials, the growth, the content, Paul Allen investment, the future and on and on. What we have here is a unique mix. Some extremely intelligent, the new investor, the experienced investor, the future investor. People helping and educating each other and sharing their knowledge. I can honestly say, there is NO OTHER thread on SI, or any other boards that I am aware of that has the same sense of "family."

You on the other hand, pop in and out, post your news items (which are appreciated, but you are not the only news poster) but normally do not stay around to discuss the content.

You are the only poster I have seen on this thread that somehow felt the need to inform everyone of your buys, sells, how much and at what price. I have defended you when your posts came under extreme criticism.

As far as the Yahoo boards they are nothing but disgusting trash and vile. If Yahoo imposed the same set of rules, monitored their threads and had the same sense of morals that Silicon Investor has, then they would have no posters, period. Just look at the smut that exist, they even choose the most disgusting screen names for themselves. How could you or anyone else even begin to compare the two. We are talking about apples and slimy slugs.

Now as far as starting a new thread. I would venture to guess that you are the minority. If in fact I am wrong, I will start a new thread, if I am right, then I will offer the same suggestion to you that you have to others in the past. Click NEXT

Oh, I forgot to add, I truly believe in this company, today and for the future. I bought my shares of GNET to hold. I am long!
