"Incidentally, the taxpayers didn't pay for my higher education. I did."

You had help, you just don't know it.

If you attended a private college/university the odds are great that it has some sort of endowment that subsidizes student tuition.

Yale University has an endowment that is worth billions $$.
Without it, the students would probably have to pay $150,000 a year tuition.

By the way, the profits on most endowments are tax free, so the tax payers did subsidize your college education a little bit. But don't worry I won't ask for my money back.

Then educating men is also a complete waste of the taxpayers' money. At least, giving them a humanistic education is.

Let's just hand them a bow and a quiver of arrows and demand dinner! Maybe also a spear....

Hey Joan,
If you think you paid for all of your education you should study a little accounting. What colleges did you attend? What schools? Private schools are generally untaxed, so their social costs are not repaid to the public. The contributions from alumni and others are tax deductible, so private schools and colleges are heavily subsidized by other tax payers. Judging from the apparent quality of your education, I would guess at least half of your schooling's total social cost was paid by government or society.
Moreover, you've gotten a lot of education on the job. Do you still work for the government? Get fellowships and travel grants? Have you actually calculated objectively what your output is worth in market place term to society?
Would you let us see the figures? <g>
