Rande Is: Regarding summer market strategy:

An excellent post!! I intend to do the following:

(1) Sell all stocks I own with small profits or any with losses by end of third week in July.

(2) Maintain my core long positions in stocks with substantial profits to avoid the tax hit. While we will have a significant correction
between now and the 4th quarter, I do not believe it will be steep
enough to justify selling large winners and trying to time the
market at re-entry time this fall.

(3) Track and make a list of the stocks I will pounce on when the
market corrects. It might be instructive to see which stocks are
the most resilient (least percentile decline) during the upcoming
correction -- they may be the best for long-term holdings.

Rande, a couple of those Defensive plays I mentioned the other day did really well today.

LOW up 2 3/16

HD up 1

Of those 2, I really like LOW the best. There are several stores around the metro here and every time I go in, they are packed. For cryin' out loud, I have to wait in line at the cash register for at least 10-15 minutes.

Well, and I am a little bias here, Lowe's is one of my favorite stores to shop at. <G>

Take care my friend.
