Stuff running with Windows ...

In your registry, there's a list of stuff to run when Windows starts. If practice matches theory, this list should match the list of stuff you see when you press Ctrl-Alt-Del and are presented with a close program menu. (It matches on MY system!)

The key is ...

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]

Hint: Export this key to a .REG file before changing anything. That way, if today's stroke of genius turns out to be tomorrow's great regret, you'll be only a mouseclick away from rescue.

Hope this helps, PW.

mr.mark,

Are you using IE or Netscape as your browser? If Netscape, is it set as your default? I have used both in the past, but have been using IE for some time now, and the method I mentioned has always worked for me. Try this, as soon as you boot up, go directly to control panel/internet options/programs and uncheck the box, then click apply and then ok. Reboot and see if loadwc is still loading. If it is, the only other way I can think of to turn it off is through the registry, or using a program called Startup Manager. Let me know what happens, and in the meantime, I'll try to find the site for Startup Manager.

Alan

Are you using Win95 or 98?
