Marc: The volume on UTEK is amazing today. Over 650k will put us at the highest volume day since December 1997. SEG announces today so maybe some big boys are discounting a more favorable DD cap ex picture going forward. Maybe some of this is short covering. Also, UTEK has a lot of baggage like other small cap semi equip doormats. But I think UTEK will be dragged along with the group from now on with improving DD picture and a semi cycle entering the capacity phase. If UTEK sells some advanced technology, then schwing!!! I am skeptical about their new technology selling plans but what else can one think after hearing UTEK promise the sky and deliver nada.

marc U: RE: <UTEK BUYING>

It probably is that caller to last weekend's Moneytalk program who asked the follow-up question about why UTEK had not risen in price in the face of recent positive new releases about new contracts etc. The caller had started buying UTEK at $32/share.

In response, Brinker got VERY defensive apparently assuming (mistakenly in my opinion)that caller was a disgruntled "Jerry-like" attacker and advised him he shouldn't be in the market at all if he expects all his individual stock investments to go up. He used as an example of patience the current holders of Apple Computer stock who have held for 10 years and are now just breaking even. He also mentioned those patient holders of STII that are now being rewarded in the Newbridge Network takeover (a good example in my opinion). As to the false assumption and Apple example, what a BIZARRE response !
