Got a good laugh out of your last post;

"...many Internet related funds run by clueless people and speculators".

A tad strong don't you think. Speculators - I can accept, Clueless - I don't know.

Hey what do we know - SUN is the dot.com company , and they certainly are benfting from the Internet mania in form of server sales. I will also take issue with the downside risk for SUN stock. SUN could come down between 40-50 (anything is possible) but if that happens you will be able to buy AOL at 50, AMZN at 25, YHOO at 40, CSCO at 35, INTC at 40 and ORCL at 20, MSFT at 65. That means NASD will be at about 1800 (still +25% from the OCT lows). How likely do you think is that ?

I have a nasty feeling this post is going to come back at bite me in Oct 99.

Regards

Alok

Haim:

Thanks for your response and for sharing your thoughts.

Regarding subsequent posts on the markets in general, I can understand your points regarding over-valuation, and a large correction is always a concern. However, don't you think there are some fundamental differences between now and 1987, including internet access and the influx of individual investors.

Time and again we have seen these drops, but investors have used them as buying opportunities; no market crashes have occurred. I guess the major correction is inevitable but I, for one, do not believe that is is going to happen now. (I dread the day it does, because it seems like so many folks have fully committed themselves to the market, not recognizing that their life savings and retirement funds are at risk.)
