Michael, Your point about institutions falling for scams is well taken; although, I think the situations that you noted are exceptions and not significant in the overall scheme of the marketplace. The Russian crisis was significant, but that took place outside US borders and was more of a monetary crisis than an outright scam. Most scams are in bulletin board and pink sheet stocks, and that's why I hardly ever trade them. Your comment about shorts being more objective implies that some people prefer to short stocks over buying them. That may work for some but this seems to be a close-minded strategy that can lead one not to be objective at all. I believe there are times to be long certain stocks and times to be short. It looks like at least two institutions have been buying GUMM the past few weeks. They are represented by HRZG and SLKC. After I posted about HRZG earlier today, SLKC bought what looks like about 75,000 shares. SLKC was also a big buyer last week between 11 3/4 and 12. JOSE moved to the inside bid late today. It is my understanding that some of the recent shorts borrowed stock from JOSE, so this could have been light short covering. The main problem that I have with the tone of this thread is that many people aren't open minded and put a negative spin on everything. This isn't conducive to making objective decisions. The discussion the other night about confusion over the clinical studies is just one example. Look how quickly some people posted scam just because there was confusion over the first and second round of clinical studies. People are entitled to opine that Zicam is a scam, but nobody has provided any evidence to support that position and many here ignore information that is contrary to that position. There is plenty of evidence to support the assertion that Zicam isn't a scam, including theoretical research and retail sales. I vehemently oppose libelous statements that allege GumTech's management or any other party is engaged in a stock promotion fraud. There's no place for that kind of nonsense on Internet bulletin boards and the allegation is just plain false. I'm sure that some of you are tired of reading this. Likewise, I'm tired of reading "stock promotion fraud" in nearly every one of Bill's posts on GUMM. Best regards, Dan
