These "training" classes are the biggest farce in the investment world today. Pretty soon it'll be a college credit course.

Course:Scalping For Dollars - How To Make Your Broker Rich
Term: 6weeks
Cost: $1,000 - $5,000 (depending on how gullible you are)
Prerequisite: $50,000+ tradeable cash
Instructor: some broker who will gladly take your money
Contents: Course will show you how to use some trading software and give you the confidence to sit in front of a computer in an office all day.

OZ:

Very interesting. I have never heard of anyone having access to the full instinet book. I didn't know it was available, to anyone. It sounds like that daytrading office was a nice place, with very reasonable ticket charges. I especially like how the allow you to combine numerous smaller lots into one 1000 share 'ticket'. Give us some more feedback after you've traded there awhile.

Education always has it's price. The price usually consists of time and money. Spend your time and money on books, on the net, in a classroom, in the market, it doesn't matter where, you will spend time and money somewhere, somehow. It appears to me that just jumping into the market and getting your training there is the most time consuming and expensive way to go. I would encourage anyone to seek additional "outside" training, anytime they can.

Trading is an individualistic occupation. You may trade in an office, with a net group, or other group format but the money is yours, the trades are yours, the results are yours and yours alone. Because of this facet of the occupation the training must likewise be suited to, and suitable for, each individual.

If this trading place seems right to you, go get 'em. I would love to hear about your experiences as you progress through this learning experiment. (Yeh, I am always on the lookout for freebies.) :-)

I have looked at every daytrading broker out there and most like cornerstone and alltech have pass through fees, which will just add on to the commision fees. Why would the beginner daytrader ,who is allready starting at a dis advantage, want to go with a firm that has these fees.
This is why i have signed up with mbtrader (who doesnt have any pass through fees ezxcept for instinet).
I have signed up with them and intend on going through their special 5 bucks a trade limited time commision since i want to start trading small from the beginning.
