An excellent thought to go to bed with.

Early tomorrow I have to be in court on two cases which will affect the placement of children for years to come. These hearings are always stressful, and these more than most because I am quite clear what I believe is best for the children involved, but how do I persuade a judge of this in 15 or at most 30 minutes? And if I fail, the consequences could be significant for these children.

Wish me -- and, far more important, the children involved -- luck.

Good night.

<There is one responsibility which no man can evade; that responsibility is his
personal influence. Man's unconscious influence is the effect of his words and his
actions on others. Every moment of life man is changing to a degree, the life of the
whole world.>

Michael, this is a very nice thought, but are you actually living it? Do you think, for example, that when you brag about jet skiing around the San Juan Islands, terrifying creatures that live in the water and on the shore, and generally polluting the air and the sea, that your personal influence is a positive one?
