Apologizing won't be enough. They should provide more assurance to the customers that they are setting to improve their systems recovery back up capabilities or redundant systems for more possible problems like this or more dangerous unexpected disasters in future. If not how could they expect the customers to reply more and more on them with rapidly increasing importance of data and Internet traffics?
