Why is everyone so hot for Niles right now? Yes, he did a good job of forecasting revenues, but the analyst that really had the quarter nailed was PaineWebber's Don Young. Six days ago he made a call which stated where profits would be and why. He was right on. I posted a short summary here:

It is pretty apparent from looking at the numbers that the entire $0.02 upside came from better notebook margins. As long as the shortage exists, DELL will be a beneficiary on the bottom line.
