The YOU GET. YOU KEEP. WE PAY.
You Get - TCI@Home the lightning fast cable Internet service

You Keep - Your current AOL account

We Pay - The cost of your AOL Bring Your Own Access charge of $9.95/mo. till the year 2000!

You keep...... almost implies a contractual agreement to keep AOL for a period of time.

Chinmoy Roy, the TCI@Home service does not sound very impressive. I called them. They are not operational in a lot of areas. For instance, I'm in NYC and they are not operational here. Moreover, the service personnel couldn't answer basic questions, such as whether the cable modem hook up is "one way" or "two way."

If you express interest, they will mark you down on their "VIP List", and presumably notify you at some future time if, and when, the service will become available in your area.

IMHO, this plan has a long way to go before it amounts to anything. It strikes me more as a marketing ploy by AT&T/@Home to create an inference that they are affiliated with AOL. It's almost deceptive in that respect.
